FAQ

Before you download.

Short answers about the install files, your keys and moving the wallet to another machine.

Which file should I download?

Windows takes the .exe installer, macOS the .dmg disk image and Linux the AppImage. Pick the card that matches the operating system shown in your system information — the panel above names the exact file for each platform.

Does the wallet cost anything?

No. The downloads and the wallet are free and open source on all three platforms. The only cost you ever pay is the small network fee when you send FACT.

Do I need an account or an email to install it?

No registration is involved. The wallet is created on your own device, and the password you choose only locks it locally — the seed phrase you write down is what actually restores your coins.

Why does my computer warn about the file?

Windows SmartScreen and macOS Gatekeeper flag software that is not widely distributed yet, so the warning appears for the official file too. Download only from this page and follow the install steps above.

Can I move my wallet to another computer?

Yes. Install the wallet on the new machine and choose the option to restore from your seed phrase. Your coins live on the network, not inside the file, so the old device is no longer needed once the restore is done.

Is there a wallet for phones?

Not yet. This page offers builds for Windows, macOS and Linux only.
